It was March 2015, and I was already geared up for my second International travel in that year. Singapore travels were full of excitement. Expect the unexpected right from weather, food, tourism and even my offices. Different flavors at every level.
During this visit, I realized that Singapore is a 25 minute country. From corner to corner, a 25 minute taxy ride and you are at the border. Although, the border on all sides is literally the sea except Malaysia on one side.
I was staying at Parkroyal on Kitchener Road which was within walking distance to Little India. This neighborhood was full of Indian restaurants, shopping centers and of course Indians. I did get a chance to walk through a couple of times however nothing excited. Mustafa Centre, however, had its own charm. Huge mall like structure with elevators, accelerators where one can literally buy anything. After spending an hour there, I sneaked out to Kitchener Road to admire the evening wind.
The weather was hot and humid, of course, during the day time but evenings had their own spell. I was visiting a site where PPE (Personal Protection Equipment was mandatory, so you may see my photo in it. Nothing fancy, just basics but safe.
Staying at Parkroyal was beneficial because of their food menus. A couple of Indian vegetarian options with a nice pool and gym.
I did meet my friend Raman again. I am not sure why I didn't click any selfie with him. I wasn't used to clicking photos during my travels. Being alone, I always wanted to take a walk in the city and admire the beauty of foreign places instead of being occupied in clicking photos.
Coming to Singapore was a strange but beautiful connection with blue skies and skyscraping buildings. The Sea, the beach, the market, the shopping, I think I should stop here and move to my next blog.
