Trip to Shanghai China - Jan 2015

On my second international travel adventure, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the bustling metropolis of Shanghai, China for the first time. The excitement of exploring a new country was palpable as I navigated through the sea of people, towering skyscrapers, and an abundance of advanced technology and cars that characterized the cityscape.

In January 2015, I went on a business trip to Shanghai, China. The vibrant energy of Shanghai was infectious, with each corner revealing a new marvel and every interaction offering a glimpse into the fast-paced lifestyle of its residents. The trip involved another deployment of Cisco Voice Router at a Secret Location (of course). My time in Shanghai was nothing short of an exhilarating adventure that left me in awe of the fusion of tradition and modernity in this enchanting city.

Visiting Shanghai, It was quite a challenge on two fronts. Language and Food. I had Google translate in my pocket and some cards to refer while travelling inside the city and I found my way however being a vegetarian, food limitations were killing me. At once I thought of 5 day fast may help me reduce a little weight then I found Dominos. Rest, a week well spent.

Staying at Four Points be Sheraton, The breakfast was full of Red Kidney beans, Chickpea and fruits. Somehow, the inter-continental breakfast theme at my hotel was helping me to kick off to a good start. Later in the day, my team at Honeywell office was nice enough to arrange garlic bread and fried rice. I needed all the calories to keep up the long day meetings and overnight PBX cutovers.

Nevertheless, The dinner at hotel restaurant had to be Penne Pasta with a vegetable sandwich. Lots of carb, I must say and I may not have survived more than a week in Shanghai because of food. I mean, who is eating Pasta everyday with fries.

Walking through the local market and browsing all tech gadgets, Shanghai really needs a second visit in future. It will be in my list.

If my wife will ever read this blog, she will find my photo in that hoodie which she gifted me. She thinks I never liked it however the proof exists here.
